Grace Ogundeji

Grace Ogundeji is a second-year MD candidate at the University of Toronto, St. George Campus. This summer, her project titled “Greenspace Co-Design in Action: An Environmental Scan” focused on advancing equitable urban green space policy. She conducted an environmental scan to better understand the global green space landscape and to examine how municipalities are addressing environmental justice, particularly in neighbourhoods facing socioeconomic inequities, racial disparities, and higher burdens of chronic disease such as diabetes. Her work forms part of a broader effort to explore how municipalities can collaborate with marginalized communities to make urban green spaces more equitable, accessible, and supportive of health. By highlighting the intersections of policy and the environment, Grace hopes her research will contribute to meaningful change in how cities approach urban planning and environmental justice. Grace was supervised by Dr. Gillian Booth
