Membership Overview 

Based at the University of Toronto and in Ontario’s Peel Region, the Network for Healthy Populations (NHP) brings together faculty, students, professionals, community partners, and policy leaders to advance innovative solutions to reduce inequities in the burden of diabetes and related conditions. Our members collaborate across disciplines and sectors to build community, share knowledge, and foster meaningful engagement between research and practice to drive impact. 

Membership is open to individuals and organizations across Canada and internationally who share our vision for healthier populations. 

Member types include: 

  • Core Members and Committee Members – NHP-funded faculty and students; leadership and advisory committees 
  • Academic Members – Internal and external faculty and staff engaged in research and collaboration 
  • Community and Policy Members – Community organizations, healthcare providers, government, and policy leaders 
  • Students and Trainees – Both funded and affiliated learners

Benefits of Membership 

As an NHP member, you will: 

  • Be eligible to apply for funding opportunities, including catalyst grants, student awards, and training grants 
  • Receive priority invitations to NHP educational events, webinars, and symposia 
  • Stay informed with regular updates on news, resources, and collaboration opportunities 
  • Connect with a diverse, cross-sector network of colleagues and potential collaborators 
  • Access curated research and capacity-building resources 
  • Contribute to shaping NHP’s research priorities and community impact 

Membership Expectations 

  • Core and Committee members: Expected to submit regular updates on NHP-related activities, participate in NHP activities, and contribute to seminars and planning as relevant.
  • Faculty members: Attend at least one NHP event per year 
  • All members: Encouraged—but not required—to take part in projects, training, advocacy, or knowledge mobilization initiatives

  2. Complete the form with your contact information, affiliation, membership type, and any additional details requested.

  3. Submit the form. The NHP team will review your information and follow up with next steps.
